STATE Government policy makers want to know what young people want and Abby King is going to tell them.
The Port Lincoln woman has been selected for the Minister’s Youth Council – the primary source of advice from young people to State Youth Minister Paul Caica.
Ms King, 22, is one of 16 young people aged 12 to 25 on the council and the only regional representative.
She will go to Adelaide once a month for meetings to offer advice on government strategies, policies and initiatives that affect young South Australians.
The council discusses anything that affects young people including issues as varied as health, education, transport, employment, local government and entertainment.
She has been a member of the Port Lincoln Youth Advisory Council (YAC) for about two years and will take her experience working with other young people here to the council.
