FIFTY-FOUR golfers from Mount Gambier to Ceduna hit off in the division A golf SA State Sandgreens Championships at Kimba on the weekend.
Port Lincoln golfer Gavin Cheriton took out the division A title with a total of 145 over the two days.
Clubs put in their bid to host the annual event in advance and it moves to golf clubs around the state.
Sunday saw an improvement in the weather, although Kimba president Barry Moyle said the rain on Saturday was great and will bring the course on even more as well as keep the crops in the district growing.
