Searching for a new committee

NO nominations were received for any of the positions at the annual general meeting of the Eyre Peninsula Owners and Trainers Association on Tuesday, July 29, despite a good attendance.

The association will now hold another meeting on August 19 to fill the positions of president, vice president, secretary and committee members.

The meeting will also hold a vote of significant importance for those in attendance with the possible relocation of the EP Owners and Trainers Bar, which has been offered by the Port Lincoln Racing Club.

The function bar next door to the current Owners and Trainers Bar has been offered to the association.

Outgoing president Andy Page was all for the idea.

“I think this is a great gesture by the PLRC and we should be looking to move ahead and upgrade to the bigger and brighter area,” he said.

“We are aiming to get the family atmosphere back into the Owners and Trainers Association.”

The club will hold a working bee on Sunday, August 17 to fix up the bull ring and give it a general clean-up. A barbecue and refreshments will be provided at the end of the day.
